Delete Your Account

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This page explains how to delete your Go Outside account (app package com.khalig.gooutside) and the personal data associated with it. You can delete your account from inside the app, or request deletion by email without installing the app.

Deletion is permanent.

Once your account is deleted you cannot sign in again, and your profile, photos, and matches cannot be restored.

1. Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

Step 1. Open Go Outside and sign in.

Step 2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.

Step 3. Confirm when the app asks you to. If you signed up with Apple, you will be asked to re-authenticate with Apple so we can revoke the connection on Apple's side.

Deletion is permanent. Your account is blocked from signing in again and your profile data is erased. We cannot restore a deleted account, its photos, matches, or conversations.

2. Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app — for example you uninstalled it, lost access to your phone number, or cannot sign in — you can ask us to delete your account instead.

Send an email to support@joingooutside.app with the subject line Account deletion request, and include:

  • the email address or phone number you used to sign up;
  • your profile name or username, if you remember it.

Please send the request from the email address registered on the account where possible. If you cannot, we may ask you for additional information so we can confirm the account is yours before we delete it — we do this to stop other people from deleting your account.

3. What we delete

When your account is deleted we remove it from active use, block future sign-in, remove you from active participation in conversations and activities, and cancel upcoming activities you host where that is needed. We erase or scrub profile personal data, including:

  • your name, username, and avatar;
  • your profile photos and any verification selfie;
  • your bio, interests, languages, and lifestyle details;
  • your date of birth, gender, and other demographic details;
  • your location and any saved passport location;
  • your public account identifiers.

Where history remains visible to other users, your public identity is minimised and shown as “Deleted account” instead of your profile.

4. What we retain, and for how long

We keep a limited set of records only where this is necessary for safety, fraud prevention, moderation, legal duties, accounting, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

  • Authentication tombstone: your email address or phone number may remain in our authentication provider's deletion record for a target review period of around 30 days, so that sign-in stays blocked and the account cannot immediately be re-registered for abuse, unless a fraud, legal, payment, or legal-claims hold requires longer.
  • Messages and activity history: direct messages, group messages, hosted activity history, and event or chat media are retained only as far as needed for other participants' history, safety review, moderation, or legal claims, with your identity minimised to “Deleted account”.
  • Safety reports and moderation records: retained while needed to investigate reports, prevent abuse, enforce safety decisions, and comply with legal duties.
  • Payment and accounting records: subscription, refund, and chargeback records are retained for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal duties, commonly up to 7 years unless applicable law requires a different period.
  • Abuse-prevention ledgers: messaging, swipe, quota, and credit-use ledgers are retained privately for abuse prevention and audit, with a 24-month baseline unless a legal hold or an active investigation requires longer.

For the full picture of how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

5. How long deletion takes

Deletion started inside the app takes effect immediately: your account is blocked from signing in and your profile stops being visible to other users straight away.

For requests sent by email, we aim to verify and action the request within 30 days of receiving it. We will reply to the address you wrote from once deletion is complete.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

Deleting your Go Outside account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the Apple App Store rather than by us.

Cancel your subscription before deleting your account:

  • Android: Google Play app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Deleting your account does not by itself entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid. Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple under their own policies.
